Concert: Pancha Tattva – Opening Holland India Muziek Festival
The opening of the Holland India Muziek Festival will be conducted with the excellent concert: Pancha Tattva. Artists from The Netherlands, Aura Rascón (bansuri), Prewien Pandohi-Mishre (vocals), Avi Kishna (sarod) and Yama Sarshar (tabla) bring us an ode to Mother Earth. Pancha Tattva (the 5 elements) stand for Earth, Water, Air, Ether and Fire. Every musical instrument represents one of these elements and the final part will be a the harmonious combining of all the instruments and singing where it will end with Fire as the grand finale.

Meet the Artists
Born and raised in Mexico, Aura was trained in western classical music on traverse flute (BA from University of Sofia, Bulgaria) and later specialized on Bansuri and Hindustani Classical Music (BA and MA from CODARTS, University of the Arts, Rotterdam, NL and traditionally from Vrindaban Gurukul, India), under the tutelage of Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. Aura remains active internationally as a soloist but also as a member and initiator of various crossover music formations. She is currently based in The Netherlands where she is active as a musician, bansuri teacher and a director of the Non-profitable Arts Foundation: FullMoon Babylon
Prewien is a vocalist born in Surinam, Prewien received his musical grooming in Rotterdam under the tutelage of Shree Koustuv Ray. He is specialized in North Indian Classical and Semi-Classical Music styles. He is currently active teaching music and performing in the Netherlands.
Avi is an Indian classical musician, producer and (youth) coach. He is co-founder of Imperceptible Art, setting up projects for and with a wide variety of artists. As musician his main instrument is the sarod. Sarod is one of the most popular Indian Classical stringed instruments (lute). Avi got his training in Indian Classical Music from his Guru; late Sri Koustuv Ray, an Indian musical virtuoso who recently passed away.
Yama started playing the tabla from the tender age of 2 years, learning under his father Ustad Sarshar. Yama then received his Taleem from the Late Ustad Alla Rakha khan saeb, Ustad Zakir Hussain and he currently spends most of his learning under Ustad Fazal Qureshi. Yama’s performances are high in demand throughout the world.
‘Midnight Longing’ is connecting musicians based in three different continents together. Raag Bageshri, a popular late night Raga, inflicts emotions of desire, longing and romance awaiting for One’s beloved. The aesthetic form of this Raag enables the mind to catch a glimpse of the deeper spiritual beauty through Filter Coffee’s “Ethnotronic” music style anchored by Prewien’s earthy vocals and Anuj’s hypnotic spoken word.
