The only thing that keeps me balanced are sacred sounds. And I use Nada Yoga as a effective pain killer. I listen to Mantra’s or classical music when I’m walking, traveling, when I need time to reflect at home, or when I need to focus on my breathing.
Mumbai: Minister of Infrastructure & Water Management Cora van Nieuwenhuizen gave a kick-off speech and inaugurated the Indo-Dutch Forum on Smart & Sustainable Port-led Development Wednesday 23rd of May in Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai. Dutch businesses are keen to increase their relationship with the Indian industry, in particularly with the port sector in India. Consul General Mumbai Guido Tielman emphasized that this trade mission is the largest Indo-Dutch trade mission so far in his opening speech.

Indian music and ragas are not only appreciated, but also soulfully enjoyed in most foreign countries and Holland is no exception. But what’s different in Holland is the beautiful amalgamation of singers, musicians and artists that people get to witness and cherish their art, thanks to DesiYUP.
During my Skype-conversation with Manish Vyas, he told me that our world is in need of sattvic-music. According Hindu mythologist Devdutt Pattanaik people who have a strong sattva-guna personality feel the need to outgrow their fears by helping others and during this process they realize they have a mind of their own. Sattva-guna music is sensitive, it allows to introspect and by analyzing the deeper meaning of mantra-music one can experience a change in mindset and feelings.
Last year DesiYUP collaborated with Darbar, Sandeep Virdee and curated an Indian concert with Debasmita Bhattacharya (sarod) and Gurdain Singh Rayatt (tabla) for the annual Holland-India music festival in de Nieuwe Kerk in Den Haag.
That sense of discipline brought magic to the songs. Be it the lyrics, melody or the instrumentation – its simplicity and complexity put together makes it memorable. Come September 7th, Holland will witness a tribute to the best romantic classics of the Hindi cinema. This musical evening will witness the one-woman band Vasuda Sharma share the stage with British singer-songwriter and entertainer Navin Kundra. Cabaretier and comedian Rayen Panday will also make a guest appearance in the show.
