DesiYUP did an exclusive interview with the First Lady of Republic Suriname, Mellisa Santokhi-Seenacherry. The film (12 mins) is made during her recent visit to The Netherlands. And introduces the viewer to the First Lady, how she will support her husband, the newly-elected President Chandrikapersad Santokhi, during his presidential term of 5 years. The First Lady requests the Surinamese Diaspora community to join hands and help rebuild their country.
Sharing Meaningful Music expresses the search for inner peace and attaining happiness. Music fuels us with new energy to keep us going and conquer the daily challenges that the metropole lifestyle gifts us. In this artwork the bridges integrate two concepts.
Art has value! It’s high time that we start talking about donating artists money for their effort to keep us entertained during this pandemic.
The reason for making this video post is this message that I shared on my personal FaceBook wall (11-05-2020).
Live Blog/ Corona Virus (COVID-19) updates from DesiYUP
Holland based company DesiYUP organized an Artist Networking Meet for Indie-musicians 18 October 2019 at JW Marriott in Mumbai India. The musicians who attended the Artist Meet event gave an impromptu performance and showcased the beauty and diversity of music.
DesiYUP believes that sustainability in the music industry is of great importance. Over the years DesiYUP endorsed ‘being in harmony with nature’ and therefore actively promoted a healthy vegetarian lifestyle. During our events we only serve vegetarian or vegan food to our artists and audience.
DesiYUP is attending the Dutch Trade Mission to India 2019. During this trade mission, DesiYUP is Live Blogging the many activities is is participating in.
I am always honored to read emails sent by musicians or bands from across the globe. It’s good to know that DesiYUP is visible as an event organizer and that artists are interested to work with us. But dearest musicians and bands: offering your art for free is not the right approach to establish a relationship built on mutual respect and equality. There are many event organizers and concert promoters who take advantage of upcoming talent. They are eager to make artists perform for free and earn some easy money. This irresponsible attitude damages the entire live performing scene in my opinion.
Every story comes to end…the story of this festival started 7 month’s ago and was concluded with an audience who experienced my 3 muses of mindfulness: Anirban, Hemang and Prewien. In this blog I will describe the highlights of the 24th DesiYUP event and mention the people who participated to create fine moments for all of us who were present on June 15th in De Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague.
