Jasrangi Jugalbandi – Ankita & Krishna

17:00 – 18:30 hrs

For the first time in the Netherlands: a Jasrangi Jugalbandi, known from the Prime series Bandish Bandits. Vocalists Ankita Joshi and Krishna Bongane present a musical dialogue in which two ragas — and two voices — flow together in harmony. This special form, developed by Ankita’s guru Pandit Jasraj, is rare due to the technical challenges between male and female vocal ranges. The musical accompaniment is provided by Hinal Pattani, known from DesiYUP’s Hindi Cinema Classics. Even without theoretical knowledge, the power of this music can be deeply felt.

Vidya Vox

19:30 – 21:00 hrs

For the first time live in the Netherlands: YouTube sensation Vidya Vox, together with composer and multi-instrumentalist Shankar Tucker. With her signature mashups and original songs, she blurs the boundaries between East and West. Expect a dynamic concert full of Bollywood, Carnatic, pop, and electronic beats.

Continuous Program

Jurriaanse Foyer (14:30 – 21:30 hrs)
The foyer transforms into a colorful South Asian market with sari draping, henna art, chai tasting, meditation clinics, Bollywood dance, a Meet & Greet with the artists, and more surprises.

Van Cappellen Zaal (14:30 – 21:30 hrs)
Watch impressive documentaries, including films about Indian Ragamala (made in Pakistan and India, in collaboration with Museum Rietberg Zürich), the portrait Moving Mountains about cult figure Ma Anand Sheela, and Maghreeb, about the search for home.

3 Years of Eindeloos India

The first edition took place in 2023, in honor of 150 years of Hindustani immigration. Since then, the festival has grown into a multi-day platform that connects the cultures and stories of South Asia with Rotterdam.
