About Muses of Mindfulness II
Saturday 2 October, 20.00hrs, you can delve deep into the rich Indian music culture during the second edition of Muses of Mindfulness, held at the Hillegonda church, Rotterdam-Hillegersberg.
Muses of Mindfulness is inspired by ‘Raga Sangeet’. This music tradition is over 2000 years old and highlights the meditative nature of Indian classical music. The original music originates from the Vedic era when mantras and ragas were recited in Hindu temples.
In this 90-minute concert our four Muses of Mindfulness II: Aura, Diepak, Prewien and Tarang will create musical moods of devotion, joy and contemplation.
Bansuri flautist Aura Rascón will open up the world of Indian Ragas by presenting Yaman, a beautiful evening Raag of romantic character that welcomes the evening and sets the mood for the eternal lovers Radha and Krishna.
The soothing sounds of the ancient flute instrument bansuri will make sure that you will let go of all your worries and allow you to rediscover yourself. The divine flute instrument bansuri is associated with Lord Krishna and his Krishna Rasa Lila.
Muses of Mindfulness is also the debut DesiYUP-concert of vocalist Diepak Ramjiawan, who is a promising young musical talent. With his soulful voice he will perform bhajans and kirtans, which are bound to bring you in a joyful state of mind.
The concert will be concluded by the earthy voice of Prewien Pandohi-Mishre. He is well-known for his efforts to make Indian classical music more accessible to a large audience in the Netherlands. Prewien will perform Raag Bageshri, a romantic evening raga, Bhupali, based on the bhakti rasa and Bhimpalasi, based on the shanti rasa, followed by light classical songs.
All three artists will be accompanied by our fourth Muse, Tarang Poddar on tabla. Being well versed in both the tabla and the drum-set, Tarang is a versatile percussionist in Indian classical and fusion music. Tarang constantly explores different musical ideas, cultures and traditions which have inspired his own unique style of playing percussion instruments.

Covid-19 rules and regulations
DesiYUP will respect Covid-19 rules and regulation and RIVM guidelines. Please make sure you have read the information (provided in English and Dutch).
Covid-19 rules (English)
The RIVM has a number of rules that we must take into account.
As of 25 September, the coronavirus entry pass system will apply to events (such as festivals, concerts and professional sports matches), and cultural venues (such as cinemas and theatres). Whether people have a fixed seat or not, and whether the location is indoors or outdoors, everyone aged 13 and over will have to show a valid coronavirus entry pass to gain admission. Everyone aged 14 and over will also have to show their ID along with their coronavirus entry pass.
Coronavirus Entry Pass (QR-pass)
You can get a coronavirus entry pass if you are fully vaccinated, have valid proof of recovery or a negative result from a coronavirus test taken less than 24 hours before entry. For people without proof of vaccination or recovery, getting tested will remain free of charge.
CoronaCheck usage
You can generate a coronavirus entry pass using the CoronaCheck app on your mobile phone.
The government remains alert
The above measures will enter into effect on 25 September and will apply until further notice. If the number of hospital and ICU admissions remains low for a longer period of time, the government will lift some of the measures still in place. But the government will remain alert. If there is a sudden spike in the number of people admitted to hospital or the ICU, extra measures may be needed. The government will try to take targeted measures where possible. The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the government are staying alert to the emergence of new coronavirus variants.
Covid-19 regels (Nederlands)
Vaccinatiebewijs, herstelbewijs of negatieve testuitslag
