Hindoes in de Media – Breaking the Bubbles

On October 9, Hindoes in de Media successfully brought together two worlds that rarely meet: the Dutch Hindu community and the field of journalism. Under the motto “Breaking the Bubbles”, the event sparked meaningful dialogue on how to overcome misrepresentation and polarization in today’s media landscape.

Held at Debatpodium Arminius in Rotterdam, the evening featured inspiring talks and a panel discussion with distinguished speakers including Thomas Bruning (General Secretary, Dutch Association of Journalists), Amish Tripathi (bestselling author, diplomat, and broadcaster), and Rabin Baldewsingh (National Coordinator against Racism and Discrimination).

The program created a vibrant space for journalists, writers, and representatives of Hindu organizations to exchange perspectives, share experiences, and explore how journalism can reflect society more accurately and inclusively.

With engaging discussions, thought-provoking insights, and active participation from attendees, Hindoes in de Media was a great success. The evening inspired new connections and fostered a spirit of understanding and collaboration between communities that too often remain apart.

Together, we took an important step toward a more balanced and inclusive media landscape — one that mirrors the diversity of the Netherlands.
