Roopa Panesar

Roopa Panesar is the most distinguished sitar player in Europe.She is among a very small number of Indian females, worldwide who have launched their careers as full-time touring sitar players. Roopa Panesar remains firmly within the Hindustani classical idiom, but brings a distinctive style to sitar performance. She is a disciple of the renowned educationist and leading musician of the UK, Ustad Dharambir Singh, a disciple of the late Indian sitar maestro Ustad Vilayat Khan. She released her debut album, Khoj (‘discovery’) in 2011, followed by Subha, voted Songlines “Top of the world album” and her most recent critically acclaimed album ATMA (The Soul).

Shahbaz Hussain is a highly acclaimed tabla player known for his exceptional skill, versatility, and profound musicality. With his technical mastery, and innovative approach to the tabla, Shahbaz Hussain inspires and captivates audiences around the world, leaving an indelible mark on the world of classical music. Born into a family of traditional musicians in the UK, Hussain began his musical journey at a young age, learning the art of tabla from his father and later learning from legendary teachers Ustad Fayaz Khan and Ustad Alla Rakha.
