On a sultry Sunday evening, we decide to visit Pandit Hariprasad Charausia’s gurukul. Tucked in a corner in the Mumbai suburbs, we enter his school to be greeted with the melodic notes of the bansuri.
We are deeply honored to host the concert of the living legend from India, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. This concert will be held on the 27th of May in de Nieuwe Kerk in Den Haag. This wil be a collaboration with Zuiderstrandtheater.
The name of this concert is: In Search for Love, Peace and Harmony. Pandit-ji’s music has a powerful devotional and meditative sound. Together with the legendary sitarist Pandit Ravi Shankar (92), He is worlds best known ambassador of North-Indian classical music. They helped to popularize Indian classical music in the West. Pandit-ji has had a special bond with The Netherlands for the past 40 years and has even been knighted as ‘Officier in de Orde van Oranje Nassau’.
